After our clients completed the full refurbishment of their home, they asked Jordan and Faber to work closely with them to establish a scheme to improve the Barn and Outbuildings located within the Yard area of their property, which currently overshadowed the entrance to their fantastic new home.
Over the course of 6 months, Jordan and Faber successfully agreed a design that not only met the clients budget here, but also complimented elements of the works previously undertaken on the house, maintaining the use of bespoke materials such as the frake cladding to the timber panels on the barn and the new barn doors.
Works included the full replacement of the Barn Roof, the forming of new openings within the existing building envelope, new Frake clad windows and doors, the rendering and decoration of the Barn and the full refurbishment of two further outbuildings in to a new Store and Boot Room, including the stonework repairs, excavation and re-laying of new concrete floors, ceramic tiling and Kitchen installation.
Working on historic buildings such as the Store and Boot Room does bring its challenges, with traditional foundation types and depths, alongside tricky damp proofing junctions, all of which Jordan and Faber successfully overcome, advising the client throughout.
Upon completion, Jordan and Faber were pleased to be given the opportunity, from recommendation of the clients here, to assist neighbours on a similar scheme.
